Integral to the ministry of Saint Peter's Healthcare System is the safety and health of its employees. That is why SPHS employee health, risk management, safety, and HR specialists meet monthly with PMA risk and claims professionals. Together, they create, deploy, and monitor various safe patient handling, workplace violence, and slip/trip/fall initiatives to ensure safe work environments. The team also turns accidents into learning opportunities and develops targeted training programs aimed at prevention. The results have meant fewer, less severe employee injuries and a rekindled focus on the principle that started Saint Peter's in 1907—health and wellness for all.
