We have been a market leader in D&O liability insurance for American businesses and other institutions since 1983.
We specialize in D&O liability coverage for America’s leading companies. Our team averages more than 20 years of experience underwriting complex exposures, such as initial public offerings, bankruptcies, and corporate "turnarounds". While we serve many industry sectors, we are a leader in technology, biotechnology, and life sciences firms, currently insuring 50% of the NASDAQ 100 Index and 60% of the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index. By underwriting each client on its individual merits, we can provide innovative and flexible insurance solutions. Our customer retention rate exceeds 90% because we understand our clients’ businesses and offer competitive solutions for primary, excess, or Side A coverage.
For larger private companies that need excess management liability limits, we can provide limits excess of the primary policy, and will generally follow the range of coverages the primary provides. We offer an Excess Flex product that can sit above underlying D&O, EPL, and Fiduciary limits.
Our experience allows us to be successful in many markets. For primary coverage, we most often work with firms that have 7 to 60 full-time attorneys and also consider smaller practices under special circumstances; for excess coverage we can consider firms with more than 60 attorneys. We also offer excess management liability solutions for law firms.
Our claims professionals manage all claims, and are committed to fostering strong working relationships with policyholders, outside counsel, and brokers to successfully resolve claims.
We provide continuity of service over the years: one claims professional is generally assigned to each policyholder, and maintains a relationship with that policyholder. Our claims professionals respond to every claim reported to the company, and form an effective team with the policyholder and outside counsel to develop defense strategies, evaluate exposure, and contain costs.
